Nikki's pink nursery

Nikki had these adorable fabrics (from http://www.fabric.com/) chosen already when we met to design her new nursery. And she had a basic idea of what she wanted... curving lines on the rounded bumper pads, with the chocolate minky dot fabric on the lower 2/3.
So I cut the gingham in diagonal strips... used them as a curved sashing between the minky and other fabrics, for the fat cording and for the bumper ties....

Isn't she sweet?

Then I made her canopy with the brown sheer fabric, using a 12" hanging lampframe from http://www.firemountaingems.com/.

And this canopy is not like those skimpy ready-made canopies that are so readily available... that you couldn't close, even around a changing table... NOoooo. THIS canopy was made using six widths of brown sheer, a full 9 feet long, using 18 yards of fabric. The chains were covered with pink fabric and satin ribbon. I made "petals" with the sheer and hand beaded the hems with pink and brown AB austrian crystals with large pink foil hearts, all from http://www.firemountaingems.com/. It was hung from a wrought iron plant hanger painted cream...See...

I covered a lampshade using the Michael Miller toile, and the gingham on the lower border, and hand beaded with pink AB austrian teardrop crystals. It casts such a pretty shadow on the walls.

Arched window treatment with toile panels bordered with brown/pink dots, and a beaded tassel made with the same crystals and large pink foil glass heart.

And the walls are painted the sweetest shade of pink... for Princess Presley.

I am sooooo proud of this room. What do you think?
