Bloomin Tuesday

Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for the rain.
But this is like 2 weeks straight yall, and I am ready to work in my flower beds again.
We did have sunshine for a few hours today, so at least I can show you what is still standing, and blooming, here in Georgia.
This hydrangea gets better every day.

Maybe I'm a little old fashioned,
I love these Gailardia.
(Blanket flower)

Asiatics, can't be beat.

I love all of my flowers, it's hard to pick a favorite.
But if I had to, the Shasta daisy might be it.

More old fashioned fav's.
Stokesia (stokes aster)

More yummy asiatics lillies.

I've been feeding my habit...
I mean really...
How could I pass this up?
There it was, Blushing Bride Hydrangea...
I couldn't just leave it there.
I'll find a place for it,
somewhere.

So now, I'm gonna head into the back yard,
show yall what's blooming back there.

These calla's are still blooming, and gorgeous! The blooms opened 3 weeks ago, and you can see for yourself, still as beautiful as day one.

Aren't the buds on this St. John's wort cute?

I want a closer look at my Euphorbia...
the flower bracts look almost like those giant alliums,
they are drooping over and touching the ground,
heavy with rain.

what's that I see?
another little surprise in my garden?
wanna see?
Right there,
under my euphorbia...
5 feet away....

YIKES!

Ahhh... the joys of gardening !

Sorry for the blurry photo, at this point, I was pretty shaky.

It seems I've interupted my little friend...

caught him in a compromising situation...

he's got his mouth full of some little critter.

Which is good.

For me anyway. Give's me time to go get my 12 guage. Sorry to all of you bleeding hearts out there... Round here, I say, the only good snake, is a dead one.

I'll spare you the details...

but it was gross.

Thanks to MsGreenthumbJean for hosting

Bloomin' Tuesdays! I hope you don't have surprises like this in your garden.

Today, or any other day.

  3. Snakes freak me out, yikes! I may have never, ever gone back in my garden if I saw THAT!!! Your flowers are beautiful, I love the whites and soft pastels! Hopefully the snake moved on its merry way to another garden!

  4. Well, I was gonna come pick flowers out of your garden, but I think I've changed my mind! The flowers are beautiful but your body guard is creepy!

  5. I am with you on the rain...we have gotten tons of rain!!!! It is good though...won't complain, cuts down on the water bill. Was that a chicken snake? I don't kill snakes, I am normally the one off to the side screaming!! LOL!!! They make my skin crawl to the point I wouldn't be able to hold a gun steady. I won't kill them unless they have rattlers, a white mouth or coral on them...thats the only 3 poisonous snakes in Alabama...they will die if it is up to me...shakes or not!

My Grandmother always told me, "If you hang around with skunks, you're gonna get some stink on you."
