Whew !!

7 Roman shades to go, and this room will be finished!

For now, I'd like to share with you the upholstery projects I've just finished.

These furniture pieces were very comfortable, but the fabric was worn and damaged from the sun that streams in from all of those windows. So Mrs. Z. asked me to cover these pieces for her... and in my favorite colors!

Huh?

But I can admit... and I must admit... I made mistakes along the way... I bit off more than I could chew. And for the first time, I missed the due date. This project was due over 2 weeks ago. And I feel terrible about that. I'm not sure if it's my insatiable need to prove to myself that I can do anything! or just the basic need to get paid, that makes me say "Yes I can do that", but I tried to juggle 3 major projects at once, all with different due dates... I thought I could squeeze in other projects and still finish this upholstery before Christmas. It didn't work.

Some lessons that I have learned:

1.) All projects must be started and finished on a first come first serve basis.

2.) I can not accept anymore upholstery projects until I finish the remodeling of my sewing room (and install a door that is more than 24 freakin' inches wide!). My kitchen table is not the place for upholstery projects, you see.

3.) Missing due dates is bad for business.

4.) Upholstery takes much longer than you think it will.

So...

All I can do is express my regret... and bring a gift or 2 when I deliver the 7 Roman Shades...

Mrs. Z. is a very sweet lady, and I'm sure she'll forgive me...

more so than I'll forgive myself.
